OSMA / LCMS Annual DUES

(Dues are payable on or before January 31)

 

The Lake County Medical Society is a chartered unit of the Ohio State Medical Association.  New applications and all dues (except OMPAC contributions which must be paid with a separate, personal check made payable to OMPAC) should be sent to the LCMS at the address below for processing.  Future annual dues for all Active members will be billed directly by OSMA.  LCMS will bill Non-Resident and Affiliate members only.

Important Tax Information:
The Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of l993 provides that the portion of association dues attributable to lobbying and political activities conducted by associations cannot be deducted as a business expense. It has been determined that 21% of your OSMA dues and 29% of your AMA dues are dedicated to legislative activities, therefore allowing you to deduct 79% of your OSMA dues and 71% of your AMA dues as a business expense for federal income tax purposes. Lake County Medical Society dues are 100% deductible.

OMPAC is a separate segregated fund established by the OSMA. It is connected with AMPAC, a separate segregated fund of the AMA. Voluntary political contributions to OMPAC should be written on personal checks. Contributions are not limited to the suggested amount. Neither the AMA, OSMA nor the county medical society shall favor or disadvantage anyone based upon the amounts of or failure to make PAC contributions. Voluntary political contributions are subject to limitations of FEC regulations. This solicit action by OMPAC is not authorized by any candidate or candidate's committee. Contributions to OMPAC and AMPAC are not deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes.

$20 of OSMA dues pays for OHIO Medicine, $20 of AMA dues pays for the Journal of the American Medical Association. $15 of AMA dues pays for AMNews.
